In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and Send Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Monroe. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, organizations, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Bastrop First Baptist hub. The address is 620 E Madison Ave, Bastrop, LA 71220. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Volunteers will serve with First Baptist Church of Rayville to connect with and care for the workers that are living adjacent to the construction site of the new Meta Hyperion Data Center. Thousands of workers are currently living in "man camps" composed of mobile trailers and temporary units while the facility is being built. This large housing area would be blessed by some free food and friendly visitors. Volunteers will assist with a mobile grill team to go door-to-door to meet workers, offer them free hamburgers, offer to pray with them, and share the good news of Jesus.
