In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and Send Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Monroe. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, organizations, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Lakeshore Baptist Church hub. The address is 308 Lakeshore Dr, Monroe, LA 71203. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Partnering with The Well, a six-year-old church plant serving a lower-income area of the community, volunteers will connect with and care for a congregation committed to sharing the Gospel in their neighborhood. The Well is seeking to strengthen its outreach by improving the appearance and functionality of its church campus.
Volunteers will assist with facility improvement projects including painting the entire exterior of the church building and helping construct a covered walkway to connect the older sanctuary with a newly built two-room children’s education building located nearby on the property. Through these practical efforts, volunteers will help create a more welcoming and accessible space for ministry, supporting the church’s mission to reach their community with the hope of the Gospel.
