In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and Send Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Monroe. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, organizations, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Lakeshore Baptist Church hub. The address is 308 Lakeshore Dr, Monroe, LA 71203. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Partnering with First Monroe Baptist Church, volunteers will connect with and care for families connected to The Vine of Northeast Louisiana, a pregnancy and maternity mentoring ministry that supports both current and past clients. Through this outreach, volunteers will help host a block party designed to create a welcoming and joyful environment for families to connect, be encouraged, and experience community. The event will include games, music, inflatables, and free food as a way to build relationships and serve the community in a practical and meaningful way.
Volunteers will assist with preparing, cooking, and serving food, as well as setting up and overseeing games and inflatables for families to enjoy. Throughout the event, volunteers will engage in conversations with attendees, offer encouragement, share the hope of the Gospel, and help connect families with First Monroe Baptist Church. Volunteers will also assist with clean-up following the event.
