In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and Send Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Monroe. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, organizations, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Lakeshore Baptist Church hub. The address is 308 Lakeshore Dr, Monroe, LA 71203. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Serving with New Direction Church and North Monroe Baptist Church, volunteers will connect with and care for residents in the neighborhoods surrounding New Direction Church, an African-American church plant located near one of the largest concentrations of apartment complexes in the region. This community will be encouraged through free food, friendly conversation, and intentional outreach.
Volunteers will serve alongside a mobile grill team by going door-to-door to meet residents, offer free hamburgers, listen to people’s stories, pray and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus. Through simple acts of kindness and personal connection, volunteers will have the opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ and build meaningful relationships within the community.
