In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and Send Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Monroe. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, organizations, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Lakeshore Baptist Church hub. The address is 308 Lakeshore Dr, Monroe, LA 71203. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Serving with Lakeshore Baptist Church, volunteers will connect with and care for families in several low-income neighborhoods through outreach at local laundromats. Many individuals and families in these communities rely on laundromats each week, and the cost of washing clothes can be a financial burden. Volunteers will help provide free washers and dryers while building relationships with those in attendance.
As people do their laundry at no cost, volunteers will have opportunities to listen to their stories, offer prayer, share the hope of the Gospel, and provide Bibles or Gospel tracts. Families will also be encouraged through snacks, children’s Bible activity pages, and small gift bags filled with laundry detergent and other helpful supplies. This is an opportunity to meet practical needs while showing the love and care of Jesus in a meaningful and personal way.
