In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Miami, FL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the First Baptist Homestead hub. The address is 29050 SW 177th Ave, Homestead, FL 33030. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Summit Church partners with the Homestead Soup Kitchen, which has served as a lifeline in the community since 1983, providing thousands of meals each year to elderly residents, families in poverty, migrants, and individuals experiencing homelessness. In partnership with Summit Church, volunteers will help refresh and improve the outdoor serving area that supports this vital work. Volunteers will build and refurbish picnic tables, assemble a rolling cart for coolers, put together shelving for better organization, and install secure lockers for staff and volunteers. These practical updates will create a more welcoming, functional space and help sustain the hope and hospitality the Soup Kitchen offers every day.
