Serve Tour - Columbia, SC

T8 - USC BCM Shrimp & Slide - (Fri PM)

8/22/2025 — 8/22/2025

In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Columbia. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.

We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.

Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.

What will you do?

Please note this event occurs in the evening. Volunteers will not check-in at the hub in the mornings. Volunteers will check in at 3:30PM and will serve until approximately 8:00PM. Please heck your confirmation emails for the specific time and location of your check in. Your project leader will give you instructions at check in.

Project details:

The University of South Carolina BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry) is hosting a block party on campus, featuring a Low Country Boil, giant water slide, and an atmosphere of fun, connection, and purpose. This event is designed to welcome both new and returning students, helping them build community right from the start of the semester.

Volunteers will partner with the BCM to create a space where students can enjoy delicious food, engage in fun outdoor activities, and connect through intentional conversations, evangelism, and spiritual outreach. The goal is to foster lasting relationships, introduce students to faith-centered communities, and offer a warm welcome to campus life.
