Serve Tour - Columbia, SC

S6 - Midtown Fellowship Renovation (Fri-Sat)

8/22/2025 — 8/23/2025

In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Columbia. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.

We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.

Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.

What will you do?

You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Spring Valley Baptist Church hub. The address is 91 Polo Road, Columbia, SC, 29223. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.

Project details:

Midtown Fellowship Two Notch is a growing church plant that has recently been gifted a building by a dying church. While the facility holds great potential, it requires significant renovation to support the church’s continued growth and ministry in the community.

Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of projects, including painting office spaces and the youth room, moving furniture into a newly designated meeting area, and renovating the kitchen by replacing the kitchen sink, countertop, and cabinetry. Exterior projects will include pressure washing sidewalks, sanding and painting outdoor hand railings, repainting outdoor steps, replacing flooring, and cleaning out a storage shed.

This effort will help revitalize the space and create a more welcoming environment for ministry and outreach in the Two Notch community. This project is well-suited for volunteers with construction skills or experience.
