In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Evansville. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the First Southern Baptist hub. The address is 25 S. Cullen Ave, Evansville, IN 47715. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
First Southern Baptist Church has a heart for the University of Evansville, a community of college students notoriously tricky to reach with the gospel. Many students do not come from Evansville or even have cars for transportation. First Southern Church has been serving the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and has made multiple inroads for the gospel. Church members have established relationships with some of the fraternity members; this project will help foster their current relationships and help make inroads for more gospel opportunities with other members.
Volunteers will serve these students by painting the stairways and hallways of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. This unique opportunity will create a further connection and positive impact for one group of students at UE.
