In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Virginia Beach. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the London Bridge Baptist Church hub. The address is 2460 Potters Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Blair Middle School is a key partner of Port City Church, located in the heart of Norfolk. This partnership is deeply personal, as one of the church elders is a teacher at Blair, and they have built a strong relationship with the school’s principal. Port City's goal is to show care and encouragement to the students by transforming their everyday environment into a space that inspires positivity and hope.
Middle school can be a challenging time for students, and their surroundings can significantly impact their mindset and self-esteem. Blair Middle School's bathrooms, currently plain and uninspiring, present an opportunity to create a visually uplifting space where students can feel valued and encourage. Volunteers will help paint positive messages on the walls, reminding students they are seen, loved, and capable of achieving great things. This project is more than painting walls; it’s about speaking life and truth into the hearts of young people in the community.
