In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Virginia Beach. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the River Oak Church hub. The address is 255 Great Bridge Blvd, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
LifePoint Christian Fellowship has a desire to show appreciation and support for the Chesapeake Public School bus drivers by assembling "survival kits" filled with practical items and a message of hope and encouragement. This initiative is part of a strategic partnership between LifePoint Christian Fellowship and the school district, aimed at building relationships with the bus drivers and connecting them to the local church community. The Pastor, Jay Albritton is a bivocational pastor that drives a bus for the city.
Volunteers will assemble and distribute kits with tissues, hand sanitizer, mints, sunglasses, and other practical supplies. They are meant to provide convenience and comfort for the drivers during their busy, often challenging days. Each pouch will also contain a message of hope, inviting the drivers to connect with LifePoint Christian Fellowship and offering a reminder of God's love and care.
