In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Virginia Beach. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the FBC Norfolk hub. The address is 312 Kempsville Rd, Norfolk, VA 23502. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Coaster Coffee is more than just a coffee shop—it is a place where community meets, connections are made, and seeds of hope are planted. Their community garden not only serves the school and church families, but also the wider community through fresh produce and shared efforts.
The project will focus on improving and expanding the garden space by installing planter boxes and preparing garden beds at Coaster Coffee. Volunteers will assist with installing a rain barrel to collect and conserve water, which will help sustain the garden during drier times. Additionally, volunteers will clean, prep, and till the soil, and incorporate compost to enrich the earth and support healthy plant growth.
