In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Virginia Beach. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin this Serve Tour project directly at the project site. The address is 8026 Old Ocean View Road, Norfolk, VA 23518. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour. *Please note the check in time for this project will be at 4:00PM and dinner will be provided for volunteers.
Project details:
Military families give so much—sacrificing time, energy, and stability in service to our country. Pillar Church desires to serve these families by offering active duty and retired military parents a well-deserved break while ensuring their children are cared for in a safe, fun environment. For two hours, parents can enjoy a meal together free of charge, while their kids engage in supervised play, crafts, and games.
Volunteers have a unique opportunity to pour love into military families, build relationships, and extend the invitation to be part of something bigger—a community rooted in faith. Volunteers will help care for the children while they eat a play games, do crafts, and have snacks and refreshments.
