In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Virginia Beach. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the FBC Norfolk hub. The address is 312 Kempsville Rd, Norfolk, VA 23502. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Family Bible Church and Carrow Baptist Church are working together to reach both the local Chinese community and the surrounding American neighborhood, including families connected to the Good News Group. Their goal is to show the love of Christ through acts of service, hospitality, and meaningful connections.
The block party will offer a completely free car wash, blessing families and individuals with a practical act of kindness while creating space for conversations and relationship-building. As guests wait, they will provide engaging activities, opportunities to connect with volunteers, and a welcoming environment where they feel seen and valued.
Volunteers will help with the car wash station and setting up, running, and tearing down the block party. By serving side by side, volunteers have the opportunity to help these churches break down barriers, build relationships, and invite people into a deeper sense of community and faith.
