Atlanta Refugee Care: Long-Term Volunteer Orientation

We are excited to have you in our Long-Term Volunteer Orientation. As you know, our new neighbors come to America as refugees. They have many needs as they adjust to life in Atlanta and the Clarkston area. They need Christian friends who can help them learn English, find jobs, learn to drive, and succeed in school. But, more than anything, they need Christian friends who love them, listen to their stories, and introduce them to the gospel. 

This Volunteer Orientation will help you know more about our ministries, refugee journey, volunteer expectations, Do’s” and “Don’t’s” and have the opportunity to ask questions regarding volunteering with us. Most importantly, this will be a time for us to worship God together as brothers and sisters in Christ. 

**Please know this orientation is a step you must take to volunteer with us**

We thank God for your desire to invest your time, gifts, and resources to advance God’s kingdom. We also hope that, through this ministry, you will be challenged in evangelism, developing lasting mentorship, discipleship opportunities, and continuing skills for future ministry. See you soon!! 

Next steps: 

1. Register yourself and your group
   • Group leaders only: send invitations to group members to join your team
2. Come to the training on Saturday, August 24th, 2024
   • 9:30 AM – Doors open (coffee will be provided)
   • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Training
   • Lunch, right after the training
