In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in the Flint, Michigan. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Eastgate Baptist Church Hub. The address is 4226 E. Atherton Rd. Burton, MI 48519. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Eastgate Baptist Church has been able to engage with local families in the community by providing a safe play space for their children when connecting with the church activities. The church's recreation room has been used for community game nights that have been a conversation point to draw in their neighbors and is in need of some refreshing renovations. Volunteers will complete the minor renovations necessary, so that community members can continue to safety use the church's recreation room. Volunteers will also paint the rec room and fellowship hall and complete some light decoration of the space.
