Memphis is the second largest city in Tennessee and home to 633,000+ (with a metropolitan population of over 1.34 million), and half of them do not know Christ. Most know Memphis as home to a world-class research hospital, multiple sports teams and two major universities. However, Memphis is home to a diverse community as well, over 45 different languages are represented.
Your mission experience will include being part of the Send Relief Memphis Ministry Center Renewal. You will be assisting the current church plant, Dwelling Place Church, through a multi-phase project.
What will you do?
This trip will include a visit to the Civil Rights Museum, along with specialized training sessions on trauma-informed care, poverty simulation, and evangelism. Volunteers will collaborate with local churches that worship at the Ministry Center, as well as other community ministries, to engage in meaningful outreach projects. Additionally, there will be opportunities for light construction and painting at the Ministry Center, where ongoing work still needs to be completed.
Memphis offers churches the opportunity to reach people for Christ while building relationships and working alongside church plants, churches going through revitalization and numerous ethnic churches. Join us in making a difference in a city that has plenty to offer – but also has plenty of needs.
*Housing and local transportation is NOT included*
