In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Philadelphia, PA. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Bedrock Church Fishtown hub. The address is 2443 E. Gordon St. Philadelphia, PA 19125. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Volunteers for this project will parter with The Rock Ministry which is a full-service, inner-city ministry in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Volunteers will work with SBC Disaster Relief as they provide a shower trailer to help folks get a shower. They will serve food, pray, do evangelism and help folks find the help and hope they need. Volunteers will provide care packages, toiletries, barbering, shower, a change of clothes, transportation to detox services, prayer and the message of the gospel to the homeless drug- addicted population in McPherson Square Park. We will also have the Dental Trailer there to help any people who have the need for dental services. Any volunteers with Dental Health or hygienists backgrounds would be welcomed.
