Serve Tour - Philadelphia, PA

BF2 - Love Your Neighbor Food Distribution (Sat)

9/16/2023 — 9/16/2023

In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Philadelphia, PA. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.

We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.

Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.

What will you do?

You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Bedrock Church Fishtown hub. The address is 2443 E. Gordon St. Philadelphia, PA 19125. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.

Project details:

Wholesome Riches is a local non-profit started by one of our Church planters wife Michelle Pilla. Her organization exists to reach at-risk students with the love of God through intentional and collective partnerships, weekly food distributions, classes and mentorship programs. Because Camden is classified as one of New Jersey's number one food deserts which means no grocery stores or fresh foods within city limits and limited access to transportation. Many Camden families are in need of food and toiletries/diapers.

Volunteers will help Wholesome Riches care for the community by feeding 200 Camden families with fresh foods, necessities and toiletries at a local Camden community center. There will be a need for the following volunteer positions: load and unload of packaging materials, food handlers, table coaches, security and traffic control, greeters, Pastors and ministry leaders to pray with families, registration, and clean up of the community center.

*Registration closes on September 12th or when the event reaches capacity*
