In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Philadelphia, PA. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Redemption City Church hub. The address is 2720 Poplar St. Philadelphia, PA 19130. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Watershed Church is one of the SEND PHILLY church plants, and it is located in the Roxborough - Manayunk section of Northwest Philadelphia. Their hope is to unite their neighbors with Jesus, and they are constantly looking for ways to engage their community. Presently they are working with their local recreation league (21st Ward Athletic Association) to help plant some trees and do some landscaping to their facilities and also host a mobile bike repair and restoration to the kids in our city. We will utilize their social media footprint and our churches impact to work together to serve our community.
Volunteers will help with the planting of trees, cleanup of the fields and the bike repair and restoration project.
