In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Chicago, IL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Ministry Center hub. The address is 5916 W Lake St, Chicago, IL 60644. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
All Peoples Church is a multi-ethnic church based in the second most diverse suburb in the state–a suburb with only one other small evangelical church. Join us from 11 am to 2 pm to help put on a Block Party outreach and school supplies and backpack giveaway for families at All Peoples Church. This is part of a larger strategy to develop a new presence in the community since we have just been able to secure a new building location in a neighborhood that has been occupied by an aging church. Volunteers will help run the block party as well as give backpacks away to families who attend.
