In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Chicago, IL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Ministry Center hub. The address is 5916 W Lake St, Chicago, IL 60644. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Immanuel Baptist Church is located right in between the country’s largest urban Medical District and 330 government subsidized housing units. Many of our members are medical students or professionals. We want to provide free health screenings (e.g. blood pressure, temp, height/weight, glucose, cholesterol, vision) and free dental services for nearby low-income residents during the weekend of a neighborhood festival. We need additional doctors, nurses, and dental hygienists as well. We pray this act of service will continue to build relationships and open doors for the gospel with this part of our neighborhood. Volunteers will register, greet, and interact with potential patients.
