In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Chicago, IL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Faith Tabernacle hub. The address is 8210 S Cornell Ave, Chicago, IL 60617. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Saint John Baptist church is located on the South Side of Chicago and has been a presence in the community for over 50 years. This neighborhood is lacking resources and through a partnership with the local schools would like to alleviate some of the burdens of the upcoming school year. Their desire is to serve the underprivileged, come alongside teachers and families to aid in a successful school year. Through their annual community event, volunteers will distribute 250-300 book bags, offer immunizations, provide health awareness, and enjoy some games for the children and have a time of worship.
