In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Chicago, IL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Faith Tabernacle hub. The address is 8210 S Cornell Ave, Chicago, IL 60617. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church has been serving the Chatham area of Chicago for over 60 years. They have been faithfully serving a community that is under resourced and neglected.
The church would like to host a community event to bring together and celebrate the leaders and community professionals, such as our alderperson, police department, and fire department to honor them for their support in our community. Volunteers for this project will stage tent chairs and tables, preparing and serving food and drinks, oversee games, and securing the surrounding area.
