In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Chicago, IL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Faith Tabernacle hub. The address is 8210 S Cornell Ave, Chicago, IL 60617. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church has been serving the Chatham area of Chicago for over 60 years. They have been faithfully serving a community that is under resourced and neglected. Across the street from the church is a vacant lot located that is in need of cleaning up to enhance the community's overall appearance. The seniors in the area would love to start a neighborhood garden; volunteers for this project will complete various jobs, including raking leaves, trimming branches, and clearing up visibility surrounding the lot, debris will need to be piled up on the parkway so it can be pick up by the city.
