In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Chicago, IL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Faith Tabernacle hub. The address is 8210 S Cornell Ave, Chicago, IL 60617. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Connection Community Church is located on the south side of Chicago in the Calumet Heights neighborhood. CCC was planted by Pastor Ron Gray 17 years ago and has made strides in serving the community. They would like to serve the Robert A. Black Magnet and Warren Elementary Schools. Both schools suffer from understaffing and dwindling budgets. unfortunately, the children of our community pay the price. They would like to help prepare students for the new school year. Volunteers will pass out book bags, paper, pens, pencils, glue sticks, folders, notebooks, crayons, rulers, food and snacks.
