In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Chicago, IL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Faith Tabernacle hub. The address is 8210 S Cornell Ave, Chicago, IL 60617. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Household of Faith requests Serve Chicago assistance in the renovation of a single family home to be used for youth and family community support. The Barnabas House is a small single family house adjacent to the church. The church purchased the house through auction for use as a youth and family support center. The center will provide individual and group counseling for the community, as well as recreational activities. The space will also be used alternately to house mission teams.
Volunteers for this project will complete necessary cleanup for the facility, as well as outdoor landscaping to prepare the home for future guests and residents.
