In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in New Orleans, LA. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus' name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the Covenant Church hub. The address is 4863 W Park Ave, Houma, LA 70364. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
DesAllmands Baptist Church was damaged during Hurricane Ida. The storm destroyed the church auditorium. Because of age and the storm's destruction, the building is unusable and must be torn down. The plan is to tear down the building so that there will be easy access to the fellowship hall, which is now being used as a place of worship.
Our hope is to restart the congregation with a new pastor (former pastor died 6 months ago of cancer) new vision in cooperation with the Missions division of the Louisiana Baptist Convention and the Bayou Baptist Association.
