In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in New Orleans, LA. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the FBC Kenner Hub. The address is 1400 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
The New Orleans area is no stranger to natural disasters, including some particularly devastating storms in the last few years. Volunteers will partner with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and FBC Norco to put on a disaster preparedness event to equip the local community to endure and respond to natural disasters. The team will give out hurricane supplies, provide various demonstrations (how to safely operate a gas generator, a chainsaw/mudout training, etc.) and a gospel presentation, and give away generators as a grand prize. Volunteers will help staff the event and activities, and prepare food for participants.
