NO20 - Inward Gift Bags Assembly and Prayer (Sat)

In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in New Orleans, LA. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.

We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.

Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.

What will you do?

You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the FBC New Orleans hub. The address is 5290 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.

Project details:

Assemble 240 gift bags as a part of our ongoing "Inward" ministry and pray that God will use the gifts to open doors to gospel conversations. The ministry, which is completely organized and run by women, seeks to provide hope for women in the sex industry in New Orleans (the history of Inward is provided in the notes section below). The women in Inward build relationships with dancers on Bourbon Street in order to share the gospel and help the women break free from this abusive industry.

We try to offer a special gift once a quarter. This summer, we would like to give the ladies a pedicure kit that could include items such as nail polish, a nail file, lotion, etc.

The gift bags will be distributed at a later date, but participants will be able to pray over the bags and the ministry.
