In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Owensboro, KY. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the FBC Owensboro hub. The address is 230 J R Miller Blvd, Owensboro, KY 42303. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
Borrowed Hearts of Owensboro is a ministry focused on foster families and their children. They provide respite, as well as clothes, hygiene, and more for foster kids. The facility needs to be expanded due to growth in the ministry and to accommodate the needs of teenagers. This project will help build a specific wing for teens' clothing, fitting rooms, etc. Volunteers will also build shelving for clothing storage as well as help create a "behind the scenes area" designed to store items for foster families, giving the area a store feel when looking at clothing and other items. This group will mud, paint, install lights, install shelving, fix up a bathroom, and install a 24" rod and cloth for the "behind the scenes area."
