In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Montgomery, AL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
The local church is reaching out to the community to assist low-income families and families with disabilities. We have an opportunity to help a disabled veteran by completing some much-needed repair work on his home. This project includes replacing a 9x20 front porch attached to the front of this man's trailer, as well as adding steps to the rear of the trailer. Volunteers will work to build the necessary ramp and steps to the home. In addition, some tin roofing may need replacing.
Project details:
Volunteers will be supporting a continued effort to construct and enhance the Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief training and ministry center. The project will involve light construction relating to landscaping, facility improvement, painting, and warehouse organization for State and National deployment readiness. The Association will provide ALL tools and related materials for the project.
