In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Montgomery, AL. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. In addition, we want to strategically help revitalized local churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on missions.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the FBC Montgomery hub. The address is 305 S Perry St, Montgomery, AL 36104. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of the Serve Tour.
Project details:
The Master's Garden is a beautiful 2 1/2 acre community garden located in an underserved community in Montgomery, AL. The Master's Garden is a ministry of FBC Community Ministries and is served almost completely by retirement-age volunteers. Each year, the volunteers plant a community strawberry patch and a summer garden to help GROW MORE to FEED MORE for JESUS. Community residents may pick from the garden to provide healthy fruits and vegetables for their families. We also provide local food ministries with produce from the garden. This SERVE project will help us to prepare the garden for the spring planting and growing season so we may continue to GROW MORE to FEED MORE for JESUS. The work will involve pruning, weeding, tilling, and other preparation work to help us get ready to plant after the last frost of the season. We have all the equipment and supplies needed, volunteers may want to bring their own work gloves and dress appropriately for the temperature.
