In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Dayton. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and compassion ministry non-profits. We want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.
We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.
Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and (more importantly) who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on mission.
What will you do?
You will begin each day of Serve Tour at the FBC Kettering hub. The address is 3939 Swigart Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45440. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of Serve Tour.
J.E. Prass Elementary School needs help with landscaping and installing sensory items for students with special needs. Friday's projects will include: weeding, planting potted flowers and hanging baskets, installing a small rock climbing or sensory wall, painting sensory pathways on ground, setting up a water sensory table, installing new pavers to line the garden beds, power washing the concrete picnic tables as well as cleaning windows and concrete.
On Saturday the project is to revitalize Prass Memorial Garden, aka "Mary's Place," by planting perennials, and specific plants for our five senses garden boxes, laying mulch, and installing bird houses and a small garden shed with a lock to store materials for ongoing garden care. This project will build bridges between the school and the local church while providing gospel outreach.
