In 2019, 15,000 children entered the foster care system in Georgia. With more than a decade of service in the area, the Valdosta ministry center prioritizes children in crisis by training churches and parents in best practices for the foster care journey. Whether it’s through monthly mentorship camps, church training, or trauma therapy, the Valdosta center’s goal is to decrease the number of children in foster care while increasing the number of churches that are supporting foster families.
It is in this time of desperate need that you have the greatest opportunity to give practical assistance, make personal connections, and share the gospel.
What will you do:
Teams will come to help with a mentoring camp for kids within foster care and underserved areas. This weekend camp will have small groups that share the gospel, classes that will teach a life skill, and time for games and fun. This will take place that Friday and Saturday. There are also foster families in the area that need repairs around their homes (paint, repair fences, cut grass, etc.).
Next steps:
Once you are registered, you will receive a series of emails with details regarding your event. We will equip you with the information you need to make your experience meaningful.
