Ashland, Kentucky is an extreme contradiction of natural beauty and urban industry, hometown hospitality with a “big city” feel in the middle of rural Appalachia. Hidden among the rolling hills and smiling faces is an undercurrent of poverty, illiteracy, homelessness, and drug addiction.
