Serve Tour - Baltimore, MD

FR-12| Inter-Church Outreach Event (Saturday)

4/30/2022 — 4/30/2022

In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Baltimore. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments and compassion ministry non-profits. We want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.

We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.

Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and (more importantly) who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on mission.

What will you do?

You will begin each day of serve tour at the FREEDOM CHURCH hub. The address is 5310 Hazelwood Ave Baltimore, MD 21206. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of Serve Tour.

Parkville Baptist was founded in 1954, and Pastor Kurt has been serving at Parkville Baptist for 8 years. They value preaching the Word, being involved in the surrounding community, and being engaged with missions. Over the years, they've developed a relationship with their local Little League as well as their local elementary school. They've held successful community yard sales for the neighborhood, as well as coat drives for the school.

The Parkville Baptist building is also being used by two churches--Nepali Speaking Church of Baltimore and New Way Slavic Baptist Church. Nepali Speaking Church of Baltimore is the recent merge of two Nepali-speaking churches, and they are currently the only Nepali-speaking congregation in all of Baltimore. Of the 30,000 Nepali people in the Baltimore area, only an estimated 300 are Christians, and there is a tremendous opportunity for ministry.

During the Serve Tour, in a great display of unity in the gospel, Parkville Baptist and Nepali Speaking Church of Baltimore will be co-hosting an outreach event together. This will include a yard sale, food, games, and more. Volunteers will be invited to assist both churches to run the program as well as to engage in conversation with visitors.
