Serve Tour - Baltimore, MD

FR-7| William Paca Elem. Cleaning (Fri+Sat)

4/29/2022 — 4/30/2022

In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Baltimore. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments and compassion ministry non-profits. We want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.

We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.

Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and (more importantly) who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on mission.

What will you do?

You will begin each day of serve tour at the FREEDOM CHURCH hub. The address is 5310 Hazelwood Ave Baltimore, MD 21206. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of Serve Tour.

Redemption City Church was planted in the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore in 2018, and it has grown from 8 to 200 people. Their mission is to plant churches fueled by the Gospel to reach Baltimore City and cities around the world. In that light, RCC seeks to partner with schools and organizations in their community as a witness to the gospel. One of their deacons serves as a teacher at William Paca Elementary School, and they will be serving the school in three ways.

Firstly, volunteers will power wash the loading dock, the front steps, the entrance and ramp, the steps between the garden and the main building, and the exterior walls. Secondly, volunteers will paint two large common areas, the cafeteria, the bathroom stalls (to cover the graffiti and to match the hardware sets), the stair railings, the playground awning poles and railings, and the second floor hallway. If there are artistic involved, they are also welcome to contribute to an external mural or two. And thirdly, volunteers will help to pick up trash around the school.
