Serve Tour - Baltimore, MD

C-3| E Baltimore Graffiti Church Const. (Fri+Sat)

4/29/2022 — 4/30/2022

In partnership with churches, associations, your state convention, and SEND Relief, the Serve Tour seeks to inspire you to engage in compassion ministry through participation in ministry projects in Baltimore. Our plan is to find ways to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments and compassion ministry non-profits. We want to strategically help local revitalized churches and bless bi-vocational pastors by providing assistance.

We want to make it easy to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.

Our goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and (more importantly) who our Savior is. As believers swarm the city, we will provide pre-trip training guides and a 30-day prayer guide to help you take your next step on mission.

What will you do?

You will begin each day of serve tour at the CHRISTIAN LIBERTY CHURCH hub. The address is 2301 Gwynns Falls Pkwy, Baltimore, MD 21217. Your project leader will give you instructions each morning of Serve Tour.

East Baltimore Graffiti Church is passionate about serving the hungry, the hurting, the homeless, and the hopeless. Many of the people they serve live on government assistance or are under active addiction. The church holds a Celebrate Recovery ministry, a tutoring/mentoring ministry, and a food pantry. When East Baltimore Graffiti Church was founded in March 2015, they originally met in a storefront and later a recreation center, but in 2018 they were able to obtain a 100-year-old 10,000-square-foot building, and they have been renovating it ever since. Pastor Charlie Brown, the founding pastor, envisions this building to be a new ministry and mission center, which will not only give them a sanctuary to gather in on Sundays, but also give them further opportunities for mission team housing, food/clothing distribution, tutoring, and recovery groups. The building will also include some apartment complexes, which they will rent out for income that will support our ministry.

East Baltimore Graffiti Church will be hosting two projects--a construction project and an outreach project. The construction project will be taking place both Friday and Saturday, and it may include indoor painting, outdoor painting, tear-out/deconstruction, and finished carpentry.
