*HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OR OLDER FOR THIS TRIP*
Imagine one of the most diverse communities in America where 60-70% of the population is foreign-born, representing over 50 countries and 100+ distinct ethnic groups all compressed within 1.4 square miles. This is Clarkston, GA. Known as the “Ellis Island of the South,” there are great needs, but there are also great opportunities for churches and individuals to invest in the residents of this unique community.
This Atlanta Mission Trip is an immersive mission trip experience at the Send Relief Ministry Center in Clarkston, GA that allows you to engage in refugee ministry through CIBC's Camp Encounter. The goal of this 6-day event is to give churches and individuals some practical training to learn more about refugee ministry while also providing plenty of opportunities for community outreach.
What will you do:
Teams will be the man-power behind CIBC's summer-long day camp that we provide to over 150 children ages 5-14 in the Clarkston area. Teams will serve alongside the camp staff to provide a Gospel-centered camp experience where students will engage in the Bible while also being instructed in a STEM-like curriculum along 3 different tracks: sports, arts and music, and academia.
When teams are not working with the camp, they will be participating in evening activities that may include refugee resettlement education and free time to explore Clarkston and engage further in our diverse community.
